We have many wonderful agencies in our area which can help people. I won't get into all those here, but thought it would be great to represent those agencies since they do so much Godly work in the community. Please keep in mind that all of these agencies can really benefit from our support. Be it our prayers, volunteered time, financial donations or gifts, or by sharing with a fellow brother or sister about how an agency (listed below) could help them in their time of need.

C.F.E. The Center For Financial Education

A nonprofit organization aimed at helping individuals and families meet their financial needs. Some ways they accomplish these goals is by providing the following services:

Confidential financial counseling
Mediation with creditors
Money management training
Low-interest rate loans
Assistance in organizing debts

 

These services are provided using a Christian approach based on giving loving instruction, along with the necessary compassion.

A.T.L.A.S. Attaining Truth, Love, And Self-control

A faith-based, nonprofit, organization reaching out to the community by relationally connecting to people. They are helping to promote the work of Churches in the community by expressing God's love to all who they can relationally connect to. Building upon that loving connection, they help individuals or families grow into a Christ likeness by aiding them into becoming disciples in our community.

Family Crisis Centers of Northwest Iowa
Their conviction centers around the philosophy that all people are equal members of society, that they all have the right to self-determination and full control over their lives and are responsible for their choices. All people have a right to safety and freedom from violence. This is the basis for all of their services and interventions with domestic violence and sexual assault victims.Their commitment to the nonviolent approach is a continual practice by all the staff and volunteers. Currently, the agency's nine employees and approximately seventy volunteers continue to provide 24-hour service to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in a four county area in the state of Iowa. The counties they serve consists of Sioux, Lyon, O'Brien, and Osceola.
Their project was partially supported by Award No. 97-WR-VX-0009 which was awarded by the Violence Against Women Office, Office of Justice Programs.
