The mission of the Youth ministry program is:  “Loving, leading and discipling today’s Youth to equip them for their journey with Jesus Christ.” Our goal is to help our young people to experience the abundant life through Jesus in their daily lives. We desire to provide a “safe” place for young people to come and be with each other, learn about topics relevant to their life, and grow in knowledge and understanding of a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. We accomplish this through fun activities and events, topical discussion and learning, and bible study and spiritual /growth opportunities. We are also an outreach ministry to the community where we strive to reach unchurched teenagers. The youth programs give our young people opportunities to grow spiritually, to witness to their peers and equip them to be committed Christian friends.

New Life Youth programs are the following;

T.I.C. - Teens In Christ (Our junior high group)
       TIC is held for 7th & 8th graders on Wednesday evening from 6:30 – 7:30 P.M.   They hold their meetings in the new youth building. The adult sponsors lead most of the activities with leadership from the Youth Director.  Power Connection, summer work projects, retreats, fund-raisers and outings are a part of their program.  They also do service projects throughout the year for our local nursing home, Atlas, Mid-Sioux and others in need.

B.A.S.I.C. - Brothers And Sisters In Christ (Our senior high group)
       BASIC meets weekly on Wednesday evenings from 7:45 – 9:00 P.M. in the youth room.  This program is for all high school students.  Programming includes both small groups and large group activities.  The small groups are led by energetic, committed and trained adult leaders that are passionate about making a difference in the lives of high school students. Each adult sponsor is in charge of 6 – 8 students.  They are encouraged to become involved in the lives of the teenagers and to personally care for them. The EDGE is a large group event that takes place 5 – 6 times each year. Teenagers from Sioux Center and surrounding communities meet for worship, inspiration and fellowship. The area Youth Directors direct this program but a huge part of the ministry is student driven.  Rocky Mountain High, work projects, youth retreats, Youth Sunday, and various fund-raisers are a part of the BASIC program.

Sports Breakfasts
       Are held throughout the school year for participants in various sport activities.  It gives community students an opportunity to come through the church doors and fellowship with their peers. Volunteers serve a breakfast and a special speaker gives a short motivational talk.

5th Quarter
         Is held at New Life or 1st Reformed Church after each ‘Home’ football and basketball games. All High School students are invited to come to enjoy fun and fellowship in a safe and caring environment.  They can grab a snack, visit with friends, play basketball, volleyball, pool or foosball, or watch a movie.
